WELCOME TO QUABBIN YOUTH SOCCER
Quabbin Youth Soccer (QYS) is dedicated to providing a fun, safe, healthy and competitive soccer environment for the youth of Quabbin regional towns (Barre, Hardwick, Hubbardston, New Braintree, Oakham and Petersham). The focus is to help players develop their soccer skills, to learn proper attitudes towards competition and sportsmanship, to learn the values of teamwork, respect for the rules, and self discipline, and to gain self confidence through trial and error against strong opponents.


2012 WINTER INDOOR CAMP - FEBRUARY VACATION
Sign up for our February vacation indoor soccer camp. We'll be hosting our insanely awesome skills camp at our new partner indoor facility, Clark YMCA in Winchendon MA. The training will be led by UK International Soccer. They bring not only European soccer expertise but also a unique brand of soccer taught here in the U.S. over in the West Coast. NSCAA JUNIOR LEVEL VI COACHING COURSE - MARCH 2012

Formerly known as the Advanced Regional Diploma, the Junior Level VI Diploma is a 21-hour course that shares a portion of its curriculum with the Junior Level V Diploma. The Junior Level VI Diploma adds an eight-hour segment to the 13-hour Junior Level V Diploma curriculum, devoted to technical and tactical uses of small-sided games, the study of systems of play and a practice teaching component. Participants are given an opportunity to conduct a training session on an assigned topic and are assessed by the course instructor.

U6 / U8 INTER-LEAGUE SPRING SOCCER 2012
We are excited to be able to offer an alternative sport for children in this age group. As we begin our second year, we ask that your player please bring a size three soccer ball to each practice and game with their name on it. We've made some fun additions to the program. Starting with the first two team practices which will be an academy style clinic coached by professional trainers. The season will conclude with a fun 3 game jamboree on Roach Soccer Field in Hardwick.
Age groups follow this guideline
U6 players must be 4 years by Aug 1, 2011
U8 players must be 6 years by Aug 1, 2011
• QYS will make every attempt to keep players on a team in their hometown. However, please understand based on registration numbers players may be placed on a team in a different town.
• Our season will run from approximately (depending on the weather) mid-late April to mid-late June 2012. All teams will have a by-week Memorial Day Weekend.
• QYS will provide a team shirt for each registered player. For each game please make sure your player has black shorts/sweat pants, soccer cleats/sneakers, shin guards and a water bottle.
Games will be played on Saturdays –schedule of games TBD. Practice days and times will be at the decision of each team coach.

QYS & RYS ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH SCOR FC
In support of QYS's new "ladder up" philosophy we have formed a strong partnership with the young start up premier club SCOR FC . Based in neighboring Rutland SCOR FC is a young and fast growing soccer club offering premier level competition in Western Worcester County. Made up of parents, players and coaches committed to building a quality soccer club that is affordable, honest and approachable. Their fees are on average 75% lower than on-field club soccer competitors. It's primary mission is not to make money, but to develop our youth. They remain committed to providing an affordable option to families.
Currently SCOR is fielding a U11G team in Maple, and will be introducing 2 new U10 teams this Spring season. Teams will compete in MASC Premier divisions.

SCOR FC ANNOUNCES IT'S NEW D.O.C.
January 2012 SCOR FC reaches an agreement with it's new Director of Coaching (DOC) Rick Lindsten, who will be instrumental in the development of SCOR coaches and player programs.Mr. Lindsten has an extensive resume including international and NCAA coaching, 8 years with John Smith Soccer Academy, 11 years as Wachusett girls varsity (a 14th national ranking). Mr Lindsten holds several state, regional and national lisences, including his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. Fall 2012 Mr Lindsten will be entering his second year as Quabbin Regional Boys Varsity coach.
QYS BRINGS PROFESSIONAL TRAINERS BACK
Spring 2012 QYS will bring back professional trainers from the UK to work with our U6/U8 instructional inter-league through thru U12 teams. This is a NSCAA certified coach and team development program. The training format will be slightly different. We will an academy training format on designated days. Trainer time and costs will be shared with SCOR FC. More news to come.
